Bear Witness to the Light

John the Baptist bore witness to the light. In our time can another bear witness to the same light? Those who are blinded by the light of their own creation cannot see the true light of God. John was reluctant to baptize Jesus with water, because he knew that true baptism would be spiritual. Jesus made it clear that he accepted John and baptism by water. Today, we must go beyond water and seek spiritual baptism by Jesus into his church within each of us who believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. It is good to be baptized in a local church, but Jesus is not obligated to act only through the hands of his servants. When it is the Lord's choice, he will bring spiritual baptism to an individual at the last moment of earthly exisitence. Jesus knows what you believe. Have faith in Him. Pray alone or pray with others, but pray.
